Helpers in the kitchen

The shih tzus went to the groomers today - they look so much better!  It is so hot here, and their short haircuts must feel good!
I was in a mood to try a new recipe today.  I made rice pudding for the first time in my life.  Really.  I loved it, C loved the first two bites, DH tried it and said "there should be plenty for you", H wouldn't even try it!  The dogs "helped" me clean up the kitchen.  Here's Landry helping with the dishes:

Saturday night with the twins

We got to have our nieces spend the night with us again this Saturday.  We went out to eat at a buffet place, and they fell asleep on the way - they looked so sweet!  They were great as usual and as we were leaving the restaurant, an older lady sitting at a table close to us complimented us on having such well behaved kids!  Our boys were very helpful with their cousins, getting them dessert, etc. They are great kids!

We also went back to school shopping and got plenty of Nike shorts & tee shirts for H and C.  It was tax free weekend here in OK and the stores were packed!  We watched the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid - it was ok, not too great.

Oh, somehow I am following my own blog.  That's pretty stupid, but I can't figure out how to undo it.

Moved my blog

OK, so it looks like I have posted several times today, but really I just re-started my blog on Blogger from Wordpress.  I just like the layouts better.  I'm sure my DH will tease me about the girly girl looking layout, but I'm happy!  I'm also going to try to post pictures every time, that seems to make writing easier.  I'm married to my best friend and fellow Disney Freak.  We call him the Disney Dude.  He has a blog here if you want to follow him.  We have no Disney trips planned in the near future, but went twice last year.

Our firstborn is moving out!

I'm having mixed feelings about my 21 year old son S moving out.  He didn't move far, but there is still a feeling of moving to a new stage in our lives.  I remember as a young adult that once I moved out, I NEVER wanted to move back in.  I hope as a parent, we have prepared him for the world and have taught him to be a productive member of society.  I am so proud of him.  He is well balanced and kind, with a great sense of responsibility and humor.  If he were a cartoon character, Linguine from Disney's Ratatouille would be it!
I did have to tell him that he couldn't take Landry with him when he moved out.  That little Boston terrier is staying put.

Ready for the Weekend!

This weekend we are having our 4 year old twin nieces spend the night while their parents move into their new home. This should be fun! We usually go get yogurt a a local shop and have fun helping the girls load them up with toppings. I'm looking forward to a preschool chick flick such as Beauty and the Beast or something similar. I'm sure Landry will end up sleeping on one of the girl's laps during the movie.
I also plan to re-stock our pantry and fridge - the events we have had at work have kept us too busy to shop. Starting August 1st, some of my friends at work and I are starting a healthy eating/workout program. Accountability to each other should be helpful.
I tried to take the all knowing Boston for a walk, but he is terrified of being on a leash. We will have to work on that.
Back to school shopping is just around the corner. I'd love to take the boys to the outlet mall in Grapevine, TX. It seems impossible that we have two boys that are seniors!! (one in college, one in high school).

An Introduction

So, I would like to start blogging, but have no idea what to write about.  I have set up categories about exercise and meals & recipes.  I guess I could start with a family introduction.  We got a Boston Terrier puppy on Memorial day 2010.  My husband named him Landry after Tom Landry the Dallas Cowboys coach.  Landry has quickly become a major part of our family.  He is so stinkin' smart for a dog!  We are crate training him and he is doing pretty well except when it rains.  No wet paws for Landry!  He has us all figured out, thus the name of this blog our boston terrier knows.
The rest of us are me, my DH and 3 boys S, H, & C

My first blog post - ever.  Not sure what I will be writing about - we will see - but I'm sure our Boston Terrier knows...
